The Science of Piezobalance

In general, air samples enter the device and travel through to the impactor. This particular part of the instrument segregates and removes larger particles from the air sample. The totality of the deposited mass affects the crystal’s frequency, and the change in frequency is proportional to the mass of the particulates.
