SR-X-MC Replacement MICROceL Oxygen (O2) Sensor

The SR-X-MC is an oxygen sensor made by Honeywell that is used is several instruments. It's body is much smaller than other O2 sensors which allows for a smaller instrument. However, this smaller design also can't contain as much electrolyte as larger designs, therefore the expected lifespan is shorter. Typical oxygen sensors have a lifespan of 2 years, but the SR-X-MC usually lasts around 8-9 months. Fortunately, changing the sensor is an easy task with it's plug in design. After installing please allow 15 minutes for the sensor to stabilize.

you said This sensor is no longer available. what is the alternative for this sensor and new part number????
1 Answer
Hello, Yes, that is correct that this sensor is no longer available. The sensor that replaced the SR-X-MC is the SR-X2V. However, the SR-X2V is not compatible with the instruments that used the SR-X-MC. So, unfortunately you would need to upgrade to one of the newer instruments. Either one of the GasAlertMicroClip series of instruments, or the GasAlertMaxXT ii. Both of these instruments use the newer oxygen sensors, and the SR-X2V is available as a replacement sensor when it needs changed.

I HAVE A OLD SR-X-MC SENSOR. WHICH ONE DO I NEED TO REPLACE IT?
1 Answer
Hello, Unfortunately, the SR-X-MC sensor has been discontinued and there is no direct replacement available. The only option at this point is to purchased a newer model instrument that contains the new oxygen sensors. Please consider upgrading to either the GasAlertMicroClip XL or GasAlertMicroClip X3, or the GasAlertMax XT ii if you are in need of an instrument with a pump.

Is this MICROcel OX sensor still available? Our supplier says he can't get any for us. We currently have ten of the BW GASALERT MAX XT in use at our firehouse.

This sensor is no longer available. It has yet to be marked as discontinued online. Any GasAlert Max XT would need to be replaced with a Max XT II found here: http://www.jjstech.com/xt-xwhm-y-na.html Any GasAlert MicroClip would need to be replaced with a MicroClip XL found here: http://www.jjstech.com/mcxl-xwhm-y-na.html

Hi We are looking to buy this type of sensor for our Gas Monitor (BW Technologies). The model is Gas Alert Micro Clip, Type is 4-gas. Can you please confirm this sensor is suitable for the monitor above? and what type of warranty you have for these sensors ?
2 Answers
If you have the original Micro Clip, the O2 replacement sensor that you would need for it is the SR-X-MC.

This older style oxygen sensor has been discontinued. The first generation Microclip 4-gas monitors are now obsolete...replaced by the Microclip XT & now the XL models!
