SR-W04-SF Combustible (0-100% LEL) Sensor (with heavy duty silicone filter)
One of the main problems with catalytic style combustible sensors is their penchant for becoming poisoned by various environmental contaminants. One of the most frequent contaminants is Silicone. Combustible sensors operate using two pellistors, one which is reactive to gas, and the other which is not. When the sensors come into contact with silicone it coats the pellistors and prevents the gas from reaching them. Once this has occurred the only solution is to install a new sensor. Symptoms of a sensor that has been poisoned is slow response to gas or no response.
This special version is fitted with a heavy duty silicone filter that helps to prevent silicone from reaching the internals of the sensor. Use this sensor in environments that have a known concentration of silicone in the work environment.
