Thank you for your question. You will need to have Fleet Manager II software installed to use the IR Connectivity kit. Do you have it installed?

This product is plug-and-play for Windows XP. Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 all have special drivers that need to be installed manually. This product is currently not supported on Windows 10.

IR Connectivity kit and drivers have only been approved for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 at this point.

I have the blue IR Connectivity Kit and have installed the fleet manager software ver. 2.6.4 on my windows 8.1 PC. Windows detects the IR connectivity kit and will slowly flash the 'pwr' led. I'm unable to link to any of my eight, GasAlertMax XTII gas detectors. Are there specific instructions as how to get the unit and IR Link to work or do they automatically detect each other when connected?

Hello Dave,
The IR Link requires a driver installation. On Windows 8 and 8.1, it also requires some advanced startup settings adjustments to turn off driver signature enforcement. Honeywell has not produced a properly signed copy of the driver, so that is the only way it will work.

I have the fleet manager II installed in my windows 7 ultimate,but the ir link does not retrieve from device , instead it states that there is an error encountered communicating with device everytime what could be the problem?

With Windows Vista or later (including Windows 7 and Windows 8), the IR link must have the blue back in order to work. The older models with the black or grey back will not work with anything after Windows XP.

I have the Fleet Manager II Software, have installed it onto my Windows 7 Professional computer, but it will not recognize the IR link when I plug it into the USB. Is there a new driver for this?

For the GA-USB1-IR to work with Windows 7, you will need to make sure you have the IR Link with the blue back. That is the only one compatible with later versions of Windows.

Experience was good

My purchase went as they all should, smoothly. My only issue was that when I ordered the personal Multi-gas detector a couple weeks prior it did not state that I may need this accessory package to program the device, therefor when I received the CO I needed to use it for my job and couldn’t due to wrong ppm levels alerts.
