S365 Charging Jacket for TXV Systems by Fieldpiece
The S365 Charging Jacket is a reliable way to charge TXV systems in cold weather. Normally, low temperatures remove too much heat from the condenser coils, so HVACR professionals should only work on TXV systems when the outside air temperature is 70°F or higher.
Now, the new Fieldpiece Charging Jacket solves that problem, and TXV systems can be accurately charged down to 37°F outside temps. It's the perfect tool to dramatically extend the hours in a day, and the days in a year, where techs can install, service, and charge TXV systems.
Made from parachute-grade material, the Charging Jacket is attached to the top of a split TXV system with hooks, so that the air inlet is not restricted. Then the unit is turned on the the jacket puffs up from the air being forced out of the air outlet.
The top is then adjusted with a drawstring until the proper pressure differential is reached between the high and low side (between 160psi and 220psi for R410A; and between 100psi and 145psi for R22). Once the systems stabilizes for 15 minutes at the correct pressure differential, the system is ready to be charged.:
- Charge TXV systems from 37°F —70°F outside
- Service maintenance contracts before and after the summer heat
- Easy to adjust to reach correct pressure differential
- Great way to increase business during the slow season
- Field tested for accuracy
There is no other product on the market made specifically for this purpose. Currently, HVACR professionals either do not work on TXV systems if it is below 70°F outside, or, if it's an emergency techs might use their actual jackets or cardboard to block the air inlet. The problem is those methods are inaccurate.
The Charging Jacket's advantage is that it works to bring the pressure drop across the TXV to at least 160 psi, and therefore has the same effect on the system as higher temperatures do.
HVACR professionals can now dramatically extend their billable hours because they can work on systems during the off season. So instead of having the do service contract check-ups during the summer rush, service and maintenance can be start early in the spring, and continue late into the fall. And even year-round in many parts of the country.
