Configuring the MicroClip XL via IR Link or MicroDock
Configuring the MicroClip XL via IR Link or MicroDock
The MicroClip XL detector has a 1-button interface so options are not adjustable from the actual detector. This has some minor drawbacks, but it helps keep everything safe because it has to be adjusted from a computer. This can be done in two ways and they will both require the free Fleet Manager II software.
The detector can be configured via the IR Link (GA-USB1-IR: http://www.jjstech.com/ga-usb1-ir.html) or the MicroDock II station (DOCK2-2-1C1P-00-G: http://www.jjstech.com/dock2-2-1c1p-00-g.html). If you go with the IR Link cable, a driver will be required and it is unsigned. Unsigned drivers are a bit more difficult to install, but instructions have been provided separately on our site along with the driver files.
You can change several options on the XL via the IR Link or MicroDock. Some of the most commonly changed options are: calibration due dates, calibration gas values, startup text, latching alarms, alarm setpoints, and LEL correction factors. Simply open up Fleet Manager, plug in your detector, and select “Configure Device via IR Link”. Select the MicroClip series and you will see the following:
Then, press Retrieve from Device and make your changes. Once all of the settings are adjusted to where you want them, press Save to Device and you are all set.
The process is the exact same for configuring via MicroDock. As long as the settings are saved to the meter they should work immediately.
