Wall or table mountable, the multiunit charger ships with a power adaptor. Using adaptors other than those supplied may cause damage to GasAlertMicroClip units in the charger.

GasAlertMicro Charger 3

Issues experienced with the GasAlertMicro Charger II, such as pins breaking and batteries loosing connectivity, have been resolved with the new charger. Wall-mountable, with replaceable Pogo pins, the GasAlertMicro Charger 3?s main feature is an additional hidden charging compartment. The GasAlertMicro Charger 3 is sold separately from the detector.

Operational Details
The new GasAlertMicro Charger 3 charges both the battery in an instrument and an additional battery pack in a hidden charging compartment. The battery in the instrument takes charging priority. When both batteries are inserted, the ?Main? light will be solid red to signify the battery in the instrument is being charged. The ?Spare? light will flash red to indicate the single battery is in the queue for charging. Once a battery is finished charging, the corresponding light will light solid green. Wall or table-mountable, the GasAlertMicro Charger 3 also works in a vehicle. The order number for the vehicle charging adaptor is GA-V-CHRG4.
Multi-Charger System
Create a multi-charger system by ganging up to four chargers per GA-CHRG1-MC5 cable (see right). To assemble a multi-charger system, order each of the following:

Adding Inlets to the Base Station
Upgrading the MicroDock II Automatic Test and Calibration System
The MicroDock II can be upgraded from two inlets to three, four or five inlets in order to calibrate and bump test with more gases. To add additional inlets, the MicroDock II system must be shipped to your nearest BW Service Center.
Prices vary according to number of inlets. An additional gas connection tube will be included for each new inlet. Sold separately from the detector.

Label Improvement
GasAlertClip Extreme 2, GasAlertClip Extreme 3 and GasAlert Extreme
The GasAlertClip Extreme 2, GasAlertClip Extreme 3 and GasAlert Extreme have new packaging labels clearly identifying the gas type. This helps customers eliminate confusion when handling two or more detectors with different gases.
H2S Low Methanol Sensors
Now ShippingThe H2S low methanol sensor is now the standard sensor in all portable instruments that use an H2S sensor. This does not apply to COSH sensors.
The new H2S low methanol sensors feature a reduced cross sensitivity to methanol. Environments with background levels of alcohols or organic vapors will not affect hydrogen sulfi de readings.
IR Handheld Printer
GasAlertClip Extreme 2 and GasAlertClip Extreme 3The IR Handheld Printer will now be powered by standard alkaline batteries (included with the unit). The supplier has discontinued shipping the AC adaptor cord with the IR Handheld Printer. The order number GPRPRINTER2-220VAC will be discontinued and replaced with GPR-PRINTER2.
Saving Space, Reducing Waste
New and Updated Packaging SolutionsBW Technologies by Honeywell believes in becoming more environmentally conscious, which has prompted a change in packaging. Plastics make up 7% of our garbage by weight, but up to 30% by volume. Estimates say it takes at least 400 years for a plastic bottle to break down. With an increase in plastic products, particularly plastics packaging which is disposed of immediately after purchase, the environmental cost is growing.
All single gas instruments (GasAlert Extreme, GasAlertClip Extreme 2, GasAlertClip Extreme 3 and GasAlert100) will no longer be shipped in plastic canisters. The GasAlertMicroClip is also changing, and will no longer be shipped in colored boxes; these products will now be shipped in brown boxes. Milling paper from recycled paper uses 20% less energy than it does to make the non recycled variety. Space is saved by shipping products in boxes rather than round plastic canisters, and stacking is also made easier. Your storage space will be more efficiently managed. Eventually, most BW products will be shipped with the brown box packaging.
Offering the GasAlertClipExtreme 2, GasAlertClipExtreme 3 and the GasAlertMicroClip in bulk packaging is also a move towards becoming more environmentally friendly. When purchasing instruments in bulk, less packaging is used. The bulk packaging is all recyclable or reusable white cardboard.
